NAGASHIMA NEEDS JUST 55 SEC.

October 4, 2009

SHIMIZU, JAPAN

WBA#13 OPBF lightweight champ Kengo Nagashima (38-3-2, 18 KOs), 138, needed only 55 seconds of the opening session, as he blasted out Thailander Jonlasit Muangsurin (7-6, 3 KOs), 134.5, with a single southpaw left on Sunday in Shimizu, Japan.

It was a surprisingly short affair as Nagashima had been regarded as a soft-punching speedster and no one had expected his so quick demolition.

Matchmaker: Joe Koizumi.

SUZUKI DISPATCHES PETCHNAMEEK

October 5, 2009

TOKYO, JAPAN

OPBF#3/JBC#1 middleweight Norifumi Suzuki (16-2-1, 11 KOs), 160, looked impressive as he dropped Petchnameek Sithsaithong (11-7, 2 KOs), 160, three times and halted him at 0:23 of the third round in a scheduled eight on Monday in Tokyo, Japan.

The hard-punching Suzuki caught the shorter Thailander with a well-timed left hook, and sent him sprawling to the deck twice in the second session. A single countering short right just to the button was a haymaker that pulverized him so effectively that the third man stopped counting and halted the proceedings.

Promoter: Yokohama Hikari Promotions.

Matchmaker: Joe Koizumi.
