OSAKA, JAPAN
WBA super-flyweight champ Nobuo Nashiro (13-1-1, 8 KOs), Japan, will engage in a grudge fight with mandatory challenger Hugo gIncreibleh Cazares (30-6-2, 22 KOs), Mexico, in Osaka, Japan, on May 8. It was announced by Takashi Edagawa, the impresario of Mutoh Promotions.
They put on a furious performance en route to a well-received split draw (116-112, 112-116, 114-114) in their first encounter there last September. Reviewing their fierce battle, we clearly remember Cazares swept the first half, while Nashiro the last half. Their rematch has been regarded as inevitable and highly anticipated to decide who the better man is.
Nashiro, a shorter Leonard gLionh Dorin stylist, loves swapping punches with any opponent, and also like stalking any rival using footwork. Cazares, three years his senior at 31, once held the WBO 108-pound belt, scoring five defenses all within the distance. Having lost his belt to Ivan gIron Boyh Calderon, the Mexican switch-hitter jumped two classes to campaign in the 115-pound category. Cazares decked an important victory over ex-WBA flyweight ruler Roberto Vazquez via unanimous verdict in Panama in March of the previous year?to his credit. Cazares depends on the volume of his combination punching, so they will certainly mix it up in a hot war again.
Nashiro, making his third defense, says, gThis time I will decide our rivalry and prove I am the better. I am confident to convincingly defeat him in this rematch.h Probably the eloquent big mouth Cazares may say the same thing in Mexico.
