KOSEKI KEEPS WBC FEMALE ATOM TITLE

March 27, 2010

TOKYO, JAPAN

WBC female atomweight champ Momo Koseki (7-0, 2 KOs), 101.75, a Japanese southpaw, kept her belt as she kept throwing light but busy combinations all night and pounded out a unanimous decision (99-91 and 98-92 twice) over Korean Gunjoo Shin (3-0-1, 1 KO), 101, over ten speedy frames on Saturday in Tokyo, Japan.

Koseki, 27, displayed her sharper hands and dominated the contest with a volume of her combinations, steadily piling up points. Shin, 21, sometimes scored with straight rights, but lacked convincing power to capture the belt from the champ. The referee was Yuji Fukuchi (Japan).

Promoter: Miyata Promotions.
