Unbeaten Japanese, WBA female minimum champ Etsuko Tada (6-0-1, 2 KOs) left today (Thursday) for Trinidad & Tobago to face WBA interim titlist Ria Ramnarine (13-5, 2 KOs) in a unification 105-pound title bout there on April 24. Tada will stay a night in Houston and arrive at Port of Spain by a Continental flight at 7:40 pm on Friday.
Tada, a game and fast-punching southpaw whose amateur mark was 47-3, is one of the best female boxers out of Japan. Tada, 28, is hoped to unify the WBA belts by defeating the 31-year-old rival Ramnarine and make a heroinefs return.
