WBC#9/WBA#11 Naoki Matsuda (33-8-4, 13 KOs), 126, struggled to keep his OPBF featherweight belt as he showed his poorest form and timing in his career, but managed to outpunch aggressive but monotonous Korean champ Jungsuk Soh (10-9-1, 2 KOs), 125.5, en route to a unanimous nod (119-111, 116-110 and 115-114) over twelve dull rounds on Satuday in Tokyo, Japan.
Also, OPBF middleweight titlist Koji Sato (17-1, 15 KOs), 160, retained his regional belt by dispatching Korean Inyoung Yoon (8-2, 3 KOs), 159.75, at 2:06 of the third round. Satofs right to the temple was a haymaker, though Sato didnft display his best form at all in the first two sessions.
Ex-Olympian, WBC#13 flyweight Toshiyuki Igarashi (11-1-1, 9 KOs), 113, made short work of formerly world-rated Filipino Rexon Flores, 112.25, with a southpaw left uppercut to the liver at 1:46 in the opening session.
