As there are many world title bouts scheduled here in Japan, this reporterfs head got so much confused that it is necessary to put the schedule in order.
On this coming Monday, September 20, there will be a couple of world title goes at Saitama Super Arena in Saitama city (close to Tokyo). WBA super-feather champ Takashi Uchiyama will put his belt on the line against WBA#5 Roy Mukhlis of Indonesia in the main event. Ex-world challenger Kohei Kono, Japan, will dispute the vacant WBC super-fly throne with ex-WBC interim titlist Tomas Rojas of Mexico. We saw a medical examination of the four contestants conducted by the Japan Boxing Commission (JBC) at the Korakuen Hall today (Saturday).
On September 25, WBA flyweight champ Daiki Kameda, Japan, will risk his belt against ex-WBA ruler and much more experienced Takefumi Sakata at the Tokyo Big Site. It may be a competitive combat by the fellow countrymen.
On October 2, WBA super-bantam champ Poonsawat Kratingdaeng-gym will face fast-rising Retsuri Lee (AKA Ryol-li Lee), a Japan-based Korean, with his belt on the line at the Korakuen Hall, Tokyo.
On October 24, WBC super-feather champ Toshiaki Nishioka will cope with top contender Rendall Munroe, England, with his throne at stake at Ryogoku Sumo Arena, Tokyo. On the same bill, WBA 108-pound ruler Juan Carlos Reveco, Argentina, will put his belt on the line against WBA 105-pound champ Roman gChocolatitoh Gonzalez over twelve rounds.
