MIGAKI KEEPS OPBF 135LB BELT

September 20, 2010

TOKYO, JAPAN

We really enjoyed a give-and-take affair, where WBC#9/WBA#13 Ryuji Migaki (15-2, 11 KOs), 134.5, Japan, came off the canvas in the second, dropped back OPBF#14 hard-puncher Akinori Kanai (21-5, 20 KOs), 135, with a flurry of punches and finally halted him with unanswered combinations at 1:11 of the sixth session underneath a dual world title affair on Monday in Saitama, Japan.

Migaki, who dethroned veteran southpaw Kengo Nagashima via tenth round stoppage this January, displayed his recovery and resilience in battering the defenseless challenger with accurate jabs and left-right combinations, almost all of which Kanai cover with his face with precision. The ref Asao mercifully called a halt to save the loser from further punishment.

Promoter: Watanabe Promotions.
