TOKYO, JAPAN
Unbeaten Thailander, former WBC Muaythai champ Jomthong Chuwattana (3-0, 3 KOs), 129.25, stunned the audience as he displayed devastating southpaw lefts in dismantling Japanese #7 super-feather Yuya Sugizaki (14-6-1, 5 KOs), 130, twice en route to an impressive TKO win at 2:47 of the third round in a scheduled eight on Wednesday in Tokyo, Japan.
The 21-year-old OPBF#15 130-pounder looked too strong and sharp for the game Japanese, dropping him with a smashing left with precision and power midway in the second. The tall, stylish and muscular Thailander repeated a same vicious shot to the button and had Sugizaki sprawling to the deck to prompt the referee Fukuchifs intervention.
Jomthong reportedly started his Muaythai career at the age of nine, quickly gained the Rajadamnern stadiumfs Muaythai belt at fifteen and gained the thrones in the bantam and feather categories. The precocious genius of Muaythai then got into a slump, having a fluctuating career of wins and losses. He recently once acquired the WBC Muaythai belt, and now keeps campaigning both in Muaythai and international-styled games. Should he pursue his new career in the international boxing, he may have a potential to become a second Saengsak Muangsurin who captured the world belt in his third pro bout after his excellent Muaythai records.
