TOKYO, JAPAN
A national title twinbill was scheduled tomorrow (Monday), as WBA#5/WBC#8 Japanese super-fly champ Yota Sato was supposed to risk his belt against formerly two-time world challenger, WBC#4 Kohei Kono, and Japanese #1 super-bantam Mikihito Seto and #2 Kyohei Tamakoshi were to dispute the vacant national 122-pound belt at the Korakuen Hall. However, the dreadful earthquake last Friday inevitably postponed the doubleheader until April 9, since the Hall needs a total inspection. Another show featuring WBA#5 flyweight contender Tomonobu Shimizufs encounter with Thailander Petchek Sithkorpolkanpim slated at the Hall on this coming Tuesday was also put off until April 2. An elimination bout in a quest for the vacant Japanese super-light belt was to be competed by Shinya Nagase and Kazuya Ito on this coming Thursday, but the Hall rejected the usage for its inspection, so it will be postponed until another date. Our impresarios have been desperate to look for alternative dates at the Hall, otherwise they would have been obliged to pay back to all customers that already purchased tickets from them.
