EARTHQUAKE STUNS BOXING SHOWS IN JAPAN

March 13, 2011

TOKYO, JAPAN

The most serious earthquake in history that happened in northern Japan on Friday afternoon caused so many troubles on the boxing industry that our promoters have been forced to cancel or postpone fight shows scheduled until this weekend. The WBC female tripleheader slated on Saturday will be held on May 8 according to the organizer WBC Cares in Japan. The Korakuen Hall, our regular venue for boxing, detected some inconveniences on the ceiling with several parts detached, so decided to cancel all boxing cards until March 18 for the sake of its detailed constructional examination of any damage caused by the horrible earthquake. The Hall established in 1962 decided to close the door for the first time in order to make an intensive care of the whole building and facilities as well.
