MORITA JBC'S EXECUTIVE SECRETARY

June 29, 2011

TOKYO, JAPAN

76-year-old well-reputed international judge Ken Morita has become the executive secretary of the Japan Boxing Commission (JBC), succeeding Tsuyoshi Yasukochi, 50, as the JBC announced on Monday. After an internal conflict inside the JBC for two months, the JBC executive committee finally decided to replace Yasukochi with Morita, his senior. There had been a move that Morita might establish the second national commission with almost all officials (referees and judges) and JBC staff, and the JPBA (Japan Professional Boxing Association; the union of all licensed club owners) declared its support to the second commission. It is, however, good for our stable administration of boxing fraternity to have the JBC as it was.
