MIYAZAKI KEEPS OPBF 108LB BELT

October 2, 2011

OSAKA, JAPAN

Unbeaten WBA#2/WBC#6 OPBF light-flyweight champ Ryo Miyazaki (15-0-3, 9 KOs), 108, kept his regional belt as he displayed a one-punch knockout of top contender Jerson Mancio (13-2-3, 5 KOs), 108, Philippine national champ, at 0:26 of the fourth round in a scheduled twelve on Sunday in Osaka, Japan.

On the night of Japanese fight fans celebrating our national hero Toshiaki Nishioka defeating Rafael Marquez, shown live from Las Vegas, the 5f1h champ Miyazaki showed his devastating power despite his struggle to make the weight by shedding a pound and a half. He was too terribly fatigued with a quick reduction of weight to trip on the scale by himself. gI was very sorry for my mistake in making the weight.h Miyazaki, a stablemate of WBC 105-pound ruler Kazuto Ioka, is said by people in Osaka that he may be able to punch much harder than Ioka, which was proven in the quick demolition. His right hook was a haymaker in his third successful defense.

Promoter: Ioka Promotions.
