HOSONO TO CHALLENGE CABALLERO

October 30, 2011

TOKYO, JAPAN

You refrain from working on Sundays in Christian countries, but Japanese boxing persons still keep working regardless of what day of the week it may be. Ohashi Promotions, in association with Watanabe Promotions, has announced a dual world title event on the last day of this year today (Sunday) in Tokyo, Japan. Unbeaten WBA super-feather champ Takashi Uchiyama (17-0, 14 KOs), Japan, will face WBA interim ruler Jorge Solis (40-3-2-1NC, 29 KOs), Mexico, in a unification bout over twelve rounds at Yokohama Cultural Gymnasium, Yokohama city. It will be ex-amateur champ Uchiyamafs fourth defense since he captured the throne via last-round stoppage of Juan Carlos Salgado in January of the previous year. Uchiyama impressively demolished all three challengers within the distance to his credit.

In a companion world title go, hard-punching prospect Satoshi Hosono (21-1, 15 KOs), former Japanese and OPBF ruler, will make an ambitious crack at the WBA feather belt against newly crowned Celestino Caballero (35-4, 23 KOs), a tall and lanky Panamanian switch-hitter, over twelve rounds. We look forward to watching highly competitive fights before the new year comes in hours.
