It was on Boxing Day that this reporter visited Teiken gym in the center of Tokyo to see WBA featherweight champ Celestino Caballero training. The lanky Panamanian is handled by his American trainer Jeff Mayweather, who had a cut over the left eyebrow treated with Vaseline-like medicine.
Q: What happened to your eyebrow? Did you street-fight?
A: Oh, no, I got headbutted.
Q: By whom?
A: By Celestino.
Q: When and how?
A: While hefs hitting my mitt, he happened to collide with my head.
Q: Were you training for head-butting?
A: No, no, thatfs only an accident.
Jeff Mayweather, the youngest uncle of Floyd Mayweather Jr., had a sense of humor. Japanese press people asked him about Caballerofs best weapon on the press conference at the gym, and Jeff replied, gA hard head as well as his hard punch.h
