ETO DEFEATS WBO#2 ISACK JUNIOR

July 9, 2012

TOKYO, JAPAN

Elongated Japanese prospect Taiki Eto (10-1, 7 KOs), 115.75, decked a very important triumph over WBO#2 super-fly Isack Junior (20-2-2, 8 KOs), 115.25, WBO Asia Pacific champ, by a well-received unanimous decision (80-72, 78-75 and 77-76) over eight non-title rounds on Monday in Tokyo, Japan.

Isack, a shorter but muscular southpaw, kept boring in to try to land his trademark lefts, which looked effective in the second session. The much taller Eto, 24, then kept circling to the left to keep the distance from Isackfs strong lefts, and occasionally scored with solid rights to the face with precision.

As the contest progressed, Eto took the initiative more clearly to sweep the last three rounds to confirm his victory. Eto, one of the three boxing brothers, had stunned the crowd by halting ex-WBA super-fly challenger Konosuke Tomiyama in six lopsided rounds this April.

His manager/promoter, ex-world champ Gushiken said, gMy next world champ may be Taiki Eto.h Wefll watch this prospectfs progress to see whether Gushikenfs prediction will be right or not.

Promoter: Shirai Gushiken Promotions.
