WBC bantam champ Shinsuke Yamanaka (16-0-2, 11 KOs), Japan, will risk his belt against ex-WBC 115-pound ruler Tomas Rojas (39-13-1, 26 KOs), Mexico, today (Saturday) in Sendai (north to our capital Tokyo), Japan. Also, WBC flyweight titlist Toshiyuki Igarashi (16-1-1, 10 KOs), Japan, will make his initial defense against unbeaten Argentine Nestor Narvaes (19-0-2-1NC, 9 KOs) in a companion title bout.
All the participants successfully made the weight yesterday: Yamanaka 118, Rojas 117.5, Igarashi 112 and Narvaes 111.5.

For the Yamanaka-Rojas bout,
referee Michael Griffin; judges Max de Luca (US), Duane Ford (US) and Junbae Lim (Korea); supervisor Major Lee (Korea).
For the Igarashi-Narvaes bout,
referee@Guadalupe Garcia (Mexico); judges and supervisor same as above.
The unbeaten southpaw Yamanaka impressively made his first defense against formidable and furious Vic Darchinyan by winning a unanimous decision this April, and will participate in his second defense against another lefthander Rojas, former WBC 115-pound champ. The ex-Olympian Igarashi dethroned hard-punching Filipino Sonny Boy Jaro in a grueling battle this July, and will face the unbeaten brother of two-time WBO ruler Omar Narvaes.
