Hard-punching local super-feather prospect Masatoshi Kotani (11-2, 9 KOs), 129.5, decked an important victory over OPBF#11 ranked Korean champ Namjun Lee (6-4, 2 KOs), 129.25, by a hard-fought unanimous decision (77-74, 78-75, 79-75) over eight give-and-take rounds in Okinawa, Japan. Kotani, a 25-year-old left hooker, took the leadoff as he positively put on an aggressive performance against the taller counterpuncher, who was much better than his mediocre credentials indicated. Kotani often caught the Korean champ with his trademark left hooks, but Lee retaliated with solid right cross-left hook combinations all the way. Itfs a good and hot battle.
JBC#2/OPBF#11 superfly Goh Onaga (19-2-2, 14 KOs), a southpaw hard-hitter from Okinawa, 115, displayed a beautiful one-punch knockout of Thailander Tienchai Sor Kanitsorn (10-5, 2 KOs), 121.5, with a smashing left at 3:10 of the second round in a scheduled eight. Onagafs haymaker produced a flattened pancake, who barely stood up and got out of the ring without a stretcher.
