OSAKA, JAPAN
Ex-OPBF super-feather champ Masao Nakamura (16-1, 16 KOs), 129.75, displayed his power punching when he whipped OPBF#5 ranked Filipino Ryan Sermona (15-3-5, 8 KOs), 127.75, from the outset and finally caught him with a strong right to the side of the belly to sink him in agony for the count at 2:40 of the third rounds on Sunday afternoon in Osaka, Japan.
The hard-punching Nakamura, strong but stiff, decked his fourth win, all within the distance, since his forfeiture of his OPBF throne at the hand of Filipino Ronald Pontillas in the shockingly fast first round in May of the previous year. Sermona, unbeaten here in a couple of previous bouts, was overpowered from the outset and absorbed much punishment before the trick happened. The upright stylist Nakamurafs vicious right to the belly was a haymaker that had Sermona taste his first setback here. He didnft pay any effort to raise himself and go on further. Nakamura, 25, is gunning for a shot at either the OPBF belt or another regional belt of the other organizations in the future.
