August 26, 2013

OSAKA, JAPAN

Japanese challenger Atsushi Kakutani (13-3-1, 6 KOs) left Osaka for Mexico city today (Monday) to have an ambitious crack at the WBC light-flyweight belt against Adrian gEl Confesorh Hernandez (27-2-1, 16 KOs) at the Gimnasio San Juan de la Barrera on this coming Saturday. Kakutani was accompanied by his manager Hideo Kanazawa (ex-OPBF junior middleweight champ) and his trainer Jinduk Kim. There was a bad rumor that Kakutani had suffered such an injury that he wouldnft be able to fight Hernandez some a couple of weeks ago, but it wasnft true as the Japan Boxing Commission (JBC) promptly sent its medical certificate to the WBC and the Mexican promoter, saying that Kakutani should be well-conditioned without any injury. Then, the title bout goes back on as slated. Even though Kakutani is an apparent underdog, he is hoped to do his best and show his utmost performance to the Mexican aficionados.
