EX-JAPANESE 135LB CHAMP KONDO STOPS EX-OPBF RULER JACA

March 16, 2015

TOKYO, JAPAN

Ex-Japanese lightweight champ Akihiro Kondo (21-5-1, 10 KOs), 138, returned to ring warfare after an eight-month hiatus and decked a fine TKO victory over former OPBF ruler, southpaw Filipino Jimrex Jaca (39-8-4, 22 KOs), 138, at 2:45 of the fourth session in an eight-round main event on Monday in Tokyo, Japan. Kondo, 29, dethroned by Yoshitaka Kato in 2012, displayed a good form as he had Jaca reeling to the ropes and floored him there early in the fatal fourth. Jaca, who abruptly became a mellow jelly after his absorption of punishment, tried to withstand Kondofs onslaught, but his apparent helplessness caused the referee Yoshidafs well-received halt. Jaca, 31, is a strange boxer who cannot show his potential strength when fighting in Japan, probably because Japan is located in an unlucky direction to Jaca.

Promoter: Ichiriki Promotions.
