OSAWA FINISHES INDONESIAN CHAMP BLADER

Former OPBF feather champ, WBA world-rated Hiroshige Osawa (27-3-4, 16 KOs), 126, finally demolished a durable Indonesian interim champ Arief Blader (20-16-1), 126, at 2:25 of the ninth round on Friday in Osaka, Japan. Osawafs vicious body shot after fast combinations to the face was a haymaker.

In the main event, Tamao Ozawa (8-2, 2 KOs), 115, acquired the vacant OPBF female super-flyweight belt by eking out a split decision over previously unbeaten Terumi Nuki (6-1, 3 KOs), 114, over eight.

NAKATANI KEEPS OPBF 135LB BELT

Elongated prospect, unbeaten Masayoshi Nakatani (10-0, 5 KOs), 135, retained his OPBF lightweight belt when he overcame a crisis in round six and swept almost all other rounds to earn a unanimous decision (119-109 twice and 118-110) over Accel Sumiyoshi (4-4-1, 1 KO), 135, over twelve sessions on Sunday in Osaka, Japan. The six-footer champ registered his third defense since dethroning Yoshitaka Kato in Tokyo last year.

KAWAGUCHI ACQUIRES VACANT OPBF 118LB BELT

Local favorites in Osaka competed in quest of the vacant OPBF bantamweight belt, and Yu Kawaguchi (23-6, 10 KOs), 118, showed his last surge and pounded out a split but well-received decision over Takahiro Yamamoto (15-4, 12 KOs), 118, over twelve heats on Sunday in Osaka, Japan. Japanese southpaw Ryosuke Iwasa recently renounced the OPBF belt, and the eliminator for the vacant championship took place with the compatriots exchanging hot leathers at their home turf.
