OSAKA, JAPAN
Unbeaten WBC bantamweight champ Shinsuke Yamanaka (22-0-2, 16 KOs) will put his belt on the line against also undefeated Argentine Diego Santillan (23-0, 15 KOs) today (Thursday) in Osaka, Japan. The hard-hitting southpaw, making his eighth defense, is favored to defeat the much shorter challenger due to his more substantial career and superior punching power. Yamanaka, 32, tipped the beam at 117.75 to 117.5 for Santillan, five years his junior, yesterday.

On the undercard, former WBC bantam titlist Joichiro Tatsuyoshi’s 18-year-old son Juiki will make a pro debut against Tadao Iwatani in a super-bantam four-rounder.
