WAKE, TAWATCHAI FACE IN IBF ELIMINATOR TOMORROW

OPBF 122-pound champ, IBF#2 ranked southpaw Japanese Shingo Wake (18-4-2 11 KOs) will square off against IBF#1 Mike Tawatchai (35-7-1, 21 KOs) from Thailand in an eliminator to decide the mandatory challenger tomorrow (Wednesday) in Tokyo, Japan. Today there was an official weigh-in, where Wake scaled in at 122, while Tawatchai hit the beam at 121.25.

The winner will be eligible to make a mandatory shot at the IBF ruler Carl Frampton of Belfast, Northern Ireland.

The IBF officials are as follows: referee Sam Williams (US); judges Pat Morley (US), David Hudson (US) and Manfred Kuechler (Germany); supervisor Glen Hamada (US).

On the undercard, elongated Japanese featherweight Hisashi Amagasa (28-5-2, 19 KOs), who dropped Gillermo Rigondeaux twice in his losing effort last December, will make a return to the ring warfare against Thailandfs Patomsith Palthompothong (12-3, 5 KOs) over ten rounds.
