KONDO STOPS BLOODIED IBF#10 PATOMSUK IN FOUR

July 27, 2015

TOKYO, JAPAN

Former Japanese lightweight champ Akihiro Kondo (22-6-1, 11 KOs), 140, decked an important victory when he halted IBF#10 junior welterweight Patomsuk Pathompthong (29-4-1, 18 KOs), 140, because of the Thailanderfs bad bleeding at 1:55 of the fourth round on Monday in Tokyo, Japan. The shaven skulled Thailander started well, but Kondo caught him with a solid right and had him rubbery-legged in the closing seconds of the opening session, when the home-towner bloodied him around the left optic with legal shots. The second and third saw Kondo take the initiative with more accurate and effective combinations to the still shaky opponent. Having Patomsuk examined by the ring physician time and again, the third man finally declared a halt to save such a gory contestant as Patomsuk midway in round four.

Promoter: Ichiriki Promotions.
