WBC FEMALE 105LB CHAMP KUROKI STOPS KANITTHA

August 15, 2015

FUKUOKA, JAPAN

WBC female 105-pound champ, Japanese southpaw speedster Yuko Kuroki (13-4-1, 6 KOs), 105.75, proved too fast and ferocious for Thailandfs Kanittha Saknarong, 106, and scored a quick stoppage at 0:43 of the third round in a non-title eight on Sunday in Fukuoka, Japan. Kuroki, a 24-year-old daughter of the head of Fukuoka Police Station, utilized sharp southpaw jabs from the outset, whipped the Thai girl with quick combinations and finally pinned her to a corner with a flurry of punches, when the third man called a halt to save the loser. Kuroki will defend her belt against the leading available contender to be designated by the WBC in December.

JBC#2 minimum Tatsuya Fukuhara (15-4-5, 6 KOs), 104, took the initiative from the start and battered Thongchai Chaiyonggym, 103.25, so one-sidedly that the ref didnft hesitate to intervene quickly at 1:21 of the third round in a scheduled eight. The up-and-coming southpaw Fukuhara had battled to a majority draw with Fahlan Sakkreerin Jr. last September and chalked up a second-round TKO win over Pangporn Por Singdet this March?both in Thailand?to show his progress, and is now gunning for an ambitious crack at the Japanese national belt against Go Odaira.
