TOKYO, JAPAN
Unbeaten ex-Olympic middleweight gold medalist, WBC/WBO#5 Ryota Murata (7-0, 5 KOs), Japan, will appear in Las Vegas on November 7, when he will face a New Zealander Gunnar Jackson (22-6-3, 8 KOs) beneath the WBO welter title bout between Timothy Bradly and Brandon Rios at the Thomas & Mack Center on November 7. Murata, 29, has been training in Las Vegas several times, but this is the very first that the Olympian will actually fight there especially under world title bouts also featuring the WBO feather title go of Vasyl Lomachenko (also a gold medalist in London as Murata) and Romulo Koasicha in the semi-windup. The Japanese six-footer has steadily improved skills and power, having defeated world rated Douglas Damiao Ataide via fifth round TKO in his last appearance in Tokyo. Murata is expected to show a good performance before US spectators.
