TOKYO, JAPAN

Unbeaten bantam prospect, IBF#8/WBO#9 Ryo Matsumoto, 119.75, extended his unblemished mark to 17-0, 15 KOs to prove he would be a near-future world champ by disposing of Filipino Jestoni Autida (9-4, 3 KOs), 118.5, at 1:49 of the second session in a scheduled ten. The 5f8h lanky hard-puncher, still 21, was lately introduced with a couple of full pages in the gNew Facesh column as a bright prospect by The Ring Magazine (page 86-87, March 2016 issue). He showed he was worth The Ring having run a feature on him by scoring a quick knockdown of the game Filipino with a sharp left hook and his follow-up prompted the third manfs intervention.

WBC#3/WBA#12 Satoshi gBazookah Hosono (30-2-1, 20 KOs), 126, barely kept his Japanese national featherweight belt by eking out a split verdict (97-92, 96-93, 95-96) over ex-WBA 122-pound champ Akifumi Shimoda (30-5-2, 13 KOs), 126, over ten heats. The shifty Shimoda appeared to be in command in the first half, but Hosono came close to the southpaw footworker and connected with short combinations to the face and midsection to earn an important victory. Hosono, who had failed to win the WBA belt three times, is gunning for a fourth title shot in 2016.

Younger brother of the Monster Inoue, WBO champ, unbeaten Takuma Inoue (6-0, 1 KO), 114.5, successfully kept his OPBF super-fly belt when he lopsidedly battered Filipino Rene Dacquel (15-6-1, 6 KOs), 114, dropped him in the final session and scored a unanimous decision (118-109, 117-109 twice) over twelve. Fresh, fast and ferocious, WBC#8 Takuma, only 19, finally caught up with the durable Filipino and sent him sprawling to the deck with a vicious left hook following effective combinations. With more experience Takuma will also appear in the international scene, if not yet featured by The Ring Magazine.

Former amateur national champ, Koki Inoue, 139.5, made a pro debut by disposing of Indonesian Jackson Koelapie, 138.25, at 2:44 of the opening session of a scheduled six. The 5f10h Inoue, 23, whose amateur mark was 112-18, is a southpaw newcomer who will follow the footstep of his cousins Naoya and Takuma.

Promoter: Ohashi Promotions.
