NAGOYA, JAPAN--Fast rising WBC #6 ranked super bantam KOZO ISHII(right photo), 123 3/4, displayed his power punching and battered Korean YANGKEUN CHUN, 122 3/4, so onesidedly as to halt him at 2:08 of the 3rd round in a scheduled 10.

Ishii, who had entered the WBA and WBC top ten due to his upset but impressive victory over then world-rated Yonghoon Lee this year, proved too strong for Chun, as he showed his improvement in compact but powerful punching.

Ishii boosted his credentials to 17-1, 12 KOs. He is one of the brightest prospects in Nagoya. Chun reportedly fell to 9-5, 5 KOs.

UNDERCARD:

JBC #4 ranked middleweight HIROKI TOMI, 153 1/2, put on a give-and-take affair with Filipino NOLI DE GUIA, GAB top contender at 151 1/4, and was awarded a KO win at 1:10 of the 6th round in a scheduled 10, as Guia turned his back and was counted out by the referee.

Tomi is 13-3-2, 7 KOs. De Guia reportedly dropped to 18-14-1, 15 KOs.
