Jan. 10
SEOUL-INJOO CHO, 115, kept his WBC super-flyweight throne on a unanimous decision over Mexican JOEL LUNA ZARATE, 114 1/2, over 12.

World-rated featherweight INJIN CHI, 128, finished SAMMY SORDILLA, 127, in 3.

Korean super-welter champ HYUNJEUNG LEE, 153 1/4, retained his national title on a technical draw with CHUNG HAN, 153 1/4, in 4.

AHNSAN-OPBF super-middle champ, YONGSUK CHOI, 174, showed a very fine KO victory over SEUNGCHUN LEE, 174, in 3. The 6'4" elongated champ is 6-0, 4 KOs.

Korean super-light champ JEUNGBEUM KIM, 139 3/4, kept his title by stopping SEUNGWOON CHA, 140, in 9.

JINHO KIM, 107 1/2, acquired the vacant Korean light fly title by barely outpointing HANJIN PARK, 107 1/2, over 10. Samjung Promotion.

There were only two cards held in Jan. in Korea.

Feb. 6
WOOLSAN-OPBF super-lightweight champ JONGKIL KIM, 139 3/4, retained his regional title by scoring a 4th round TKO over compatriot JONGHOON YUH, 142 1/4, in a scheduled 12.

The loser Yuh reportedly overweighed the super-light limit, but the champ Kim won with his weight under the limit, so his victory was regarded as his successful defense. Kim, who made his first defense, is 21-9-4, 13 KOs. Yuh fell to 26-4, 11 KOs.

This was only one card held in Korea in Feb.

Mar. 26
CHUNAN-WBC #4 ranked feather INJIN CHI, 128, scored a 4th round KO over Filipino TEOFILO TUNACAO, 128, in a scheduled 10. Chi bettered his mark to 19-1, 10 KOs.

Upcoming YOONGNAM LIM, 109 1/4, knocked out Filipino RANDY ALMAZON, 108 1/4, in 2. Lim, a Novice King tourney winner in 1998, is 4-0, 3 KOs.

Also Novice King tourney victor, HEEJUN BAEK, 115, raised his ledger to 5-0, 3 KOs, by outscoring Filipino BEN ESCOBIA, 112 3/4, over 8.

Mar. 27
SEOUL-Former WBA world super-feather champ YONGSOO CHOI found it easy to demolish Filipino RIC RAMIREZ in 2. Choi, 25-3-1, 15 KOs, will engaged in another tune-up go on Jun. 19 prior to his third battle with the current champ Takanori Hatakeyama in Oct.

YANGSOO SEUNG seized the vacant Korean feather title by defeating CHUNGYEUL SON on a unanimous decision over 10. It was their rematch, as they previously fought to a draw in Oct. of 1998. Scored: double 98-94 and 98-95. The winner is 11-1-1, 4 KOs. The loser fell to 12-2-1, 7 KOs.

There were only two cards in Mar. in Korea.
